Jour 112 : Shark Bay World Heritage Area : Denham, Little Lagoon, Denham, Eagle Bluff

Ce matin c’est grasse-mat, on prend la route vers 9.30 AM.
On arrive à Denham vers 12.00 PM, plein d’essence et on achète de quoi faire un barbecue.
On passe au centre d’information pour savoir où camper et la dame nous dit qu’à Eagle Bluff on peut passer la nuit sur le parking gratuitement. Parfait.

Nous voilà parti pour Little Lagoon pour notre barbecue et nager un peu.
C’est très beau mais barbecue pourri et il y a un panneau qui indique qu’il y a des stonefish (poisson venimeux) et donc que la baignade n’est pas conseillée. Génial…
Donc on s’en va et on retourne à Denham pour faire notre barbecue.

On mange bien et on se pose sur nos serviettes à l’ombre d’un palmier en face de la mer turquoise. On sort les mots-croisés, c’est bien compliqué mais on s’amuse.
Vers 4.00 PM, on se douche puis on roule vers Eagle Bluff, notre camping pour la nuit. Et on n’est pas déçu ! C’est trop beau ! C’est une falaise qui donne sur l’océan où l’eau au bord n’a que 60 cm de profondeur avec du sable blanc donc on peut apercevoir tout animal y passant : raies, requins, tortues et poissons.

On fait la jolie balade, il y a une petite île en face où des centaines d’oiseaux sont nichés et pêchent.
Laeti aperçoit une raie !

On fait à manger, Ludo admire le coucher de soleil, puis dodo.


We arrive at the Shark Bay World Heritage Area at about 11.00 AM, we have a good bbq at Denham. We spend most of the day there, under a palm tree doing crosswords (and gosh this is hard in English…)
At 4.00 PM we get to Eagle Bluff, our camp spot. It’s amazing, we’re at the top of a cliff and at the bottom, the water is so shallow that the signs say that we can spot rays, sharks and turtles. We walk along the cliff, there is a small island where hundreds of birds are nesting.
And then, Laetitia sees a ray in the water! We watch the beautiful sunset and bedtime.
